Nearly Half of Canadians Aged 25 to 35 Own Their Home
Royal LePage 2021 Demographic Survey
Some really interesting insights emerged from the Royal LePage demographic survey last month.
The study found that 48 percent of Canadians aged 25 to 35 currently own their home, and 25 percent of these homeowners purchased a property during the pandemic.
Among non-homeowners, 68 percent say they are planning to make the move to home-ownership in the next five years.
Here are some other interesting facts about Canadians aged 25 to 35:
✔ 40% have seen their savings grow since the onset of the pandemic
✔ 72% feel confident in their short-term financial outlook
✔ 39% say the pandemic has increased their desire to move to a less dense area, due to affordability, larger homes and access to more green space
✔ 52% say the option of remote work has increased their likelihood of moving further away from their place of employment
